Your Library Card

Welcome to Your Library Card

An Oxford Free Public Library card is valid for the cardholder only and should be treated with great care.  Cardholders are held responsible for materials obtained with their library cards.  Cardholders should report immediately to the Library if:

  • the loss of a card
  • a change in name
  • a change in mailing address
  • a change in phone number
  • a change in email address

The Oxford Free Public Library, as part of the CW MARS library network, allows a person to have 50 items checked out at one time.  You may only borrow 4 DVD’s at one time.

Borrowing privileges are blocked when library materials are not returned, returned in poor condition, overdue fines exceed $10, the library card expired, or a patron has 50 items checked out.

Many materials are renewable.  You can renew your library materials over the phone, online, or in person.  From your online account, you can check your due dates, renew books, add books to a wish list, place holds, and check the status of holds.  You can change your password in the Account Preferences tab.  Call your local library if you have trouble logging into your online account.

Fines
If you have more than $5.00 in fines or bills, you can pay them online with a credit or debit card.  Log into your account, choose fines, and click the Pay Fines button.

Holds
In order to provide access to library materials at all locations in the CW MARS network, library users may place holds on materials via the online catalog and have them sent to the Oxford Free Public Library.  Library users with a fine balance greater than $10 may not place a hold.

Renewing Items
In order to renew materials you have checked out, you must log in to your account. Under the Items Checked Out tab, you can select the items you wish to renew and renew them.  Note: there are limited renewals available on items. If you have reached the limit of allowed renewals, you cannot renew the items yourself online. You must contact the Oxford Free Public Library at 508-987-6003.

Getting a Library Card
You cannot register or renew your library card online. To apply for a library card, you must go to the Oxford Free Public Library in person.  Please bring a photo ID and proof of current address.  Children ages 5 and up may get a library card with a parent or guardian present.
